Local Plan 2011-31

North Hertfordshire District Council's local plan covers the period 2011-2031 and will set targets for new homes, employment and retail development. It will identify areas of land where these developments should be built and consider what infrastructure is needed to support development. The Local Plan's policies will be used for making decisions on planning applications.

In pursuing our main objectives, the Baldock Society Committee is monitoring events associated with the Local Plan. You can find details of the our latest updates below.

The Local Plan (2011 - 2031) is now being considered by the government appointed inspector. On Tuesday, 6th February, the main Baldock site off North Road was discussed.

NHDC was represented by Louise Symes and Nigel Smith and there were various consultants on hand. There were 10 local representors as well as a representative of Greene King and Hertfordshire County Council.

Those attending came and went throughout the morning;  there were approximately 30, quite a few of whom were from Baldock including Councillors Muir, Weeks and Patterson.

Carole Anne Brown and Paul Taylor attended on behalf of The Baldock Society. Notes summarising the event were made by Carol Anne Brown and are attached below.
